The screw has a 1/4" photo thread (6.35 mm thread diameter). This thread corresponds with the female thread which is installed on almost any camera, any spotting scope or on many telescopes.

The screw is therefore ideally suited for self-construction of tripod solutions and camera support systems.

The screw has a wide slot, matching suitable screwdrivers. If there is no screwdriver at hand, a coin will also fit into the slot.

The screw also fits into "photo dovetail bars" like the PSFOTODel from TS-Optics. With it, you can attach the spotting scope or camera lens via 2 screws, thus avoiding any twisting of the optics.
